Artist of the Month Award

The watercolor "You are my Sonshine" was selected for "Artist of the Month" award at the September meeting of Coppini Academy of Fine Art (CAFA). This is a painting of my son, Gregg. Each month the members cast their votes for the recipient of this award. Our membership is made up of many talented artists in the San Antonio area and, therefore, it is an honor have my painting displayed at Coppini for a month. Thank you.

Heirlooms

Miniature Oil on canvas panel 5x7

Reminds me of an old fashioned bouquet that might have sat on Grandma's table.

Shadows Playing on the Riverwalk

Watercolor 12x15 in a 16x20 mat

The wonderful colorful reflections in the water and the shadows playing on the path caught my eye as I strolled along the water's edge. Painted on Arches 300 lb cold press paper.

Fresh as a Daisy

Miniature oil on canvas board 5x7

Blue and yellow remind me of the Swedish flag. This painting makes me feel happy. Perhaps because my heritage is Swedish.

To Warm Your Heart

Oil on canvas panel 6x8

I painted this miniature in a workshop taught by Joni Falk at Scottsdale Artists' School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Multiple fresh flower arrangements were provided to create dramatic still life paintings. This was my first experience with small canvases and tiny brushes. I usually paint with the largest brush possible or even a palette knife. The detail does not show in this photograph of the painting.

The Lily Pond

Oil on stretched canvas 24x30
Lately, I have enjoyed working with oils. I worked on this large canvas using my very favorite blue and green combination.
